New England Recreational Fishing Workshops – Massachusetts

The goal of these workshops is to facilitate a collaborative process for developing potential management approaches for the recreational groundfish fishery that balance the need to prevent overfishing with enabling profitability in the for-hire fleet and providing worthwhile fishing opportunities for anglers.

• Date: Saturday, January 12, 2019
• Time: Doors open at 8:30, workshop begins at 9:00 and adjourns at 5:00 (coffee, lunch and breaks will be provided)
• Location: The workshop will be held at the Hampton Inn, 10 Plaza Way, Plymouth, MA 02360, in the Mayflower Meeting Room.
• Parking: There is ample parking in the hotel lot.

The target audience includes all members of the recreational fishing community, including private anglers, for-hire captains and business owners, charter boat customers, and recreational fishing association leaders and members.

Registration is free, but space is limited, so please register early. Once the initial registration is full, you will have the option to add your name to a waitlist, and will be notified as soon as space opens up.

We will be providing the opportunity for mileage reimbursement for anglers, captains, and business owners attending the workshop. Please indicate if you plan to request this travel stipend in your registration.

The agenda and other meeting materials will be emailed to the registrants as they become available, and will also be posted on the Greater Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office workshop website. In the case of inclement weather, any changes to the event will be emailed 12-hours prior to the meeting start.
