NOAA To Host New England Fishing Management Workshops

Fall Groundfishing on Jeffreys Ledge

Registration Open for New England Fishing Workshops

NOAA Fisheries’ Greater Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office is hosting three workshops throughout New England to gather stakeholder input on developing both short- and long-term management measures for the recreational fishing community.

The goal of the workshops is to facilitate a collaborative process to develop management measures for the recreational groundfish fishery that balance the need to prevent overfishing with enabling profitability in the for-hire fleet and providing worthwhile fishing opportunities for anglers.

All stakeholders, including private anglers, for-hire vessel captains and owners, as well as charter boat customers, are encouraged to attend. Attendees may request a travel stipend for mileage.
